Details

Engineered for durability, built last - Strongbridge's HDPE (high-density polyethylene) electrofusion 45° elbows offer extreme durability and are available in the largest range of pressure classes and sizes. Our industrial-grade electrofusion 45° elbow fittings are meticulously designed for PE3408, PE4710, and PE100 HDPE pipe systems, utilizing PE4710/100 virgin resin to ensure a reliable, leak-free system.

These heavy-duty 45° elbows are fully pressure rated to deliver exceptional performance. They are lightweight, facilitating easy installation, and provide rugged resistance to chemicals, impacts, corrosion, and abrasion. With our electrofusion HDPE fittings, you can establish seamless connections within existing HDPE piping systems, eliminating the need for additional fittings or welding. This versatility enables the transportation of water, fluids, gas, and slurries.

The electrofusion 45° elbow fitting enables the connection of two poly pipe lengths at a 45° angle or facilitates the joining of a long spigot fitting to a pipe around a 45° corner. By securely attaching the fitting to the existing HDPE pipe and employing a Strongbridge electrofusion processor, the outer barcode on the fitting is scanned. This barcode contains a 24-digit code encompassing vital information about the fitting and fusion parameters, ensuring high-quality fusions.

Upon scanning, an electric current is applied to the integrated electrofusion wire coil within the HDPE fitting, causing the PE4710/100 virgin resin materials to melt and fuse with the existing pipe. Once cooled, the 45° elbow forms a dependable and sealed connection.

Technical Notes

Engineered for PE3408, PE4710, PE100 HDPE Pipe Systems.

TEGA electrofusion fittings may be fused at ambient temperatures of between 0°C (+32°F) and +45°C (+115°F). If job site conditions are such that the pipe and fitting temperature is below this range, the installer should use a tent and heater to warm the pipe and electrofusion fitting to within the allowable temperature range. Special care should be taken to provide a balanced temperature level of both pipes and fittings before fitment and fusion operation.
